Tour types explained:
Guided or escorted tour
Guided tours include expert guides that provide interesting background information on every place you visit. You have a different person in each place, who picks you up at the airport/train, takes you on the 1/2 day tour, makes arrangements for optional tours as you choose and can provide advice, but is available for a limited time. Otherwise you’re on your own.
Escorted tour means the tour leader is always with you 24 hrs a day, staying in the same hotel, eating the same meals if included – always there for you.
Some tours a a bit of a hybrid form in between guided and fully escorted.
Self-guided tour
Self-guided tour is a self-governing tour where one navigates a route oneself. The traveler has a route, information, and some amenities arranged by a company, but is responsible for getting between point A and B. We provide also accommodation, luggage transfers from starting point to final destination, maps, instructions, directions, and suggestions to see or do during the self-guided tours. Most information is accessible via smart phone.
